Sending money via credit card with PayPal. Is it a Cash Advance?

quiksilver_113 asked:

My girlfriend wants to pay her car payment with a Discover card but her Cash Advance limit is 300.00 while her credit limit is 500.00. Would sending money to me with her Discover card over PayPal count as a Cash Advance transaction or merely a credit purchase? If it weren’t then we could theoretically send more than 300.00, right?

instant cash advances

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but it will be counted as a credit card transaction, but Paypal will charge fees for a transaction.

  2. Uncle Autisim says:

you could do that but they are going to charge you (paypal) a fee like they always do. But it is a way to get it done.

The first two respondents are correct: its considered a credit card transaction, not a cash advance.
